3V0537.01 Onomatopoeia [vae vae’] = barking…first use (7/13/79)

For the past week or so Peggy has been using a word of her own
invention [vae vae’] to indicate the barking of a dog. She apparently
came up with it one time when Scurry barked and I said, “”Scurry
barks.” Peggy repeated, [vae vae’]. She has since used it also for other
noises Scurry makes, growling and even the soft grunts as she
scratches. Typically Scurry will bark or growl, and Peggy will look at
me and say [vae vae’].
