Episode A: | Mom sits Peggy on the floor beside Scurry. Leashed, Scurry “barks” anticipating a walk. Mom hands leash to Peggy, exits scene Scurry tries to follow Mom but is stopped by Peggy. |
Episode B: | As Peggy leaves Scurry, Bob asks “Where you going, Peg?.. Don’t you want to play with the poochy?” Peggy returns. As Scurry evades contact, Peggy takes up the leash. Scurry continues evading Peggy’s grasp. Peggy flails with a loose leash, and Scurry comes closer to her. As Scurry passes, Peggy grabs the leash up short and pulls. |
Episode C: | When Peggy reaches to pet her back, Scurry escapes. Peggy pursues, with non-Verbal Exclamations (NVEs) and again grabs a short leash hold. (NVEs) Peggy: NVEs, while flailing with leash, jingling the bell on Scurry’s collar. NVEs. B: Isn’t she a sweet dog? Nice, Scurry. It’s so nice that she lets you play with her like that. Peggy holds and hugs Scurry, who escapes again. Both Peggy and Scurry exit. Scene cut & restart |
Episode D: | Mom returns with Scurry, exits. B: Hold on, Peggy. As Scurry exits, pulling leash. B: There goes Scurry. Peggy grabs end of leash in time. B: You got her? P: Yeah! Okay, let’s see if you can haul her in, Peggy. NVE. |
Episode E: | Ball rolls into scene. Peggy moves to get it. B: (misunderstanding Peggy’s intention) No, you’re not supposed to chase the dog. You’re supposed to get her over to where you are |
Episode F: | Peggy throws the ball, watches it roll, retrieves it. Peggy repeats the action, exits. Scene cut and restart. |
Episode G: | B: Good for you, Peg. I’m glad you pulled her back. She’s a nice dog. P: NVEs. Peggy reaches for Scurry, who retreats. Peggy tosses ball then crawls after it upstage. |
Episode H: | B: (refocusing the action) Hey, Peggy…. Peggy. Look at this. (Bob drops Peggy’s toy “Foxie” near Scurry. ) B: What about that? B: What’ve you got there? Peggy tosses ball towards Bob. He pockets it. B: Disappeared. It’s gone. |
Episode I: | Peggy crawls to Foxie, NVE, takes it up. B:What have you got, Peg? NVEs (looking at Fox painting?) B: What’s that? P: lifts Foxie, “That” or NVE (twice). What is it? P: NVE. B: It’s a what? P: hugging Foxie, NVE. B: Can you tell me what it is? P: (negative head shake? “No.”) |
Episode J: | NVEs. Multi-sound phrase. B: I didn’t understand. Peggy appears to look over Foxie. Multi-sound phrase. Peggy returns to Scurry, ringing her collar bell with leash. As she pets, manipulates Scurry, Peggy talks to her and herself. |
Episode K: | P: turns to Foxie, crawls with it towards Bob. B: What’s you doing, sweetie? B: Nice coming over here, huh? Camera off for a moment. B: What did you say? P: (flails leash, ringing Scurry’s bell) NVE. |
Episode L: | B: What is that thing that you’re holding, sweetie? What, What’s that? (Vowel sound: possibly touching the eye) B: What’s that? P: (Vowel sound, specifically repeated). A. A. As Scurry tries to escape, Peggy grabs\s the leash end. B: Scurry tries to get away but you got him. And Peggy exits from the scene B: You’re trying to get away…. |
